The Adult Playground

14 Nov 2024
Keynote Theatre 4

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso

We can learn a lot from how children play; throwing the rule book out, safely expressing emotions and trying something new.

Everyone knows it’s essentially for development for children to play, the science says so. But why don’t we play as adult? Studies on play and adult learning demonstrate that hands-on, interactive, and playful approaches can enhance knowledge retention, problem-solving skills, and overall engagement in educational contexts.

The scientific basis for the benefits of play in adults lies in its ability to activate various neural pathways associated with pleasure, reward, and learning.

Join Lauren Cunningham, Learning & Development Lead at Bumble Inc, to explore practical ways to embed play-based methodologies into corporate environments, hear real examples, and understand how to measure the impact of this approach. Let’s have some fun!”
